Attendance

Due to higher incidences of illness affecting children at the moment  last week`s whole school attendance was only 94.574%.We are 5 weeks in and unbelievably there are only 3 more weeks until half term. Let`s hope things improves as the term draws to an end. Well done RH and 6W who both were the highest overall in their Key Stage.

SAT`s Week

An important week for our Year 6 children is coming up next week: SATs week. The children are ready and prepared for these, they know what they need to do and will, I am sure, do their best. The only preparation they will need over the weekend is a good night’s sleep, some early nights next week and plenty of TLC.

* Breakfast will be available from the Monday through to Thursday for all of our Year 6 children to ensure they have the best start to the day before their SATs begin.

School Photographs

The proofs and order slips for the class photographs should be returned to school by Friday 13th May  (registration). This is the deadline and any received after this time will be returned to you so that you can place an order directly with Tempest. Please note that this will incur an additional cost.

Dogs Trust

Last week the Dogs Trust came into school to teach the children all about caring and being safe around dogs. There is no charge for the workshops but as Dogs Trust is a charity, we thought donations of old blankets, towels and bedding would be much appreciated. The centres are in desperate need of additional supplies to keep their dogs cosy. Please have a look at home. Any donations can be dropped off at school next week (no pillows).

Cake Break Fund Raising Event

On Friday 13th May Alverthorpe Scouts are hosting a Cake Break (coffee and cake evening). Everybody is welcome to come and join us. (£2.50 for a cuppa and cake) There will also be a Tombola, Raffle and other fund- raising activities. All funds raised will go to Wakefield & District M.S Society. 6 – 8pm St Paul`s School Hall.

St Paul’s Church Notices

Sunday 8th May - 9:30am Parade Service

Monday 9th May – 15:30pm Messy Church (food provided, therefore advice notice of attendance would be helpful).
