CCTV
For the benefit and welfare of our pupils, staff and visitors, we have had CCTV cameras installed within the school grounds. This decision was made due to several attempted burglaries that have occurred in the last twelve months.
Although nothing substantial was stolen, the damage caused by the thieves to school property incurred considerable repair costs. The schools CCTV policy is on the school website for anyone that would like to read it.
Carnival
A big thank you to everyone who has responded to our request for items for the various stalls and tombolas. These items are being collected and sorted but we still need more! Please have a look round at home and send in anything that may be suitable for the following:
Jar Bar – A wonderful tradition, filled jars with goodies for the children
Toy Tombola – Clean unbroken toys, complete games and jigsaws
Tombola – Unwanted gifts, toiletries, jewellery
Also thank you to those people who have volunteered to be helpers on the day of the Carnival, however we are still short of people to help with the actual running of the stalls. If anyone can help for an hour it would be very much appreciated. Please indicate on the slip what time would best suit you and return it to the school office.
Sports Activity Days
There will be two sports activity days in school next week. These will enable the children to try some sports that we are not normally able to provide including a safe form of archery, cycle training for group riding and racing and dance (street dance for the older children). We recommend that all children have their water bottle with them and KS2 children might like to bring a piece of fruit to eat as a snack.
Children will not need anything other than their normal PE kit – navy shorts, coloured t-shirt, trainers and socks. PE socks could be thicker navy socks under trainers or thin white socks for summer. Many girls who wear tights forget to bring socks with them. Tights under shorts are not suitable for PE – girls should wear leggings/jogging bottoms and socks if they do not want bare legs.
Navy jogging bottoms/leggings and a navy fleece/sweatshirt/hoody/tracksuit are school uniform if the weather is cold. In the event of hot and sunny weather, please send your child with a hat. KS2 will be going outside whatever the weather and if it rains they will get wet. If your child has an appropriate waterproof jacket for sports activities it would be helpful if they had it in their bag.
Please do check the weather forecast and send your child with the right clothing. We only have a few spare items for cases of emergency!
