Dinner Money

The price of a school meal is going up in September 2016 to £1.90 per day, £9.50 per week. Our catering company ISS want to reassure you that this increase still gives incredible value for money for a nutritionally balanced two course meal.

Our youngest children, up to and including those in Year 2, will still have a free meal every day in line with the government's Universal Infant Free School Meal scheme.

FSM Entitlements

If you are entitled to Free School Meals, and think your entitlement will run out before or during September, please ensure you renew this before the beginning of the new term. The number of children eligible for Free School Meals affects the funding the school receives from the government, and we want to ensure that St Paul`s receives its full entitlement as our pupils will benefit from this. You should do this even if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or 2 and in receipt of Universal Infant Free School Meals, or even if you plan to provide your child with a packed lunch. Once your FSM entitlement is confirmed you child will be added permanently to the Pupil Premium List. Children who are Pupil Premium are eligible for additional help such as free milk, two school jumpers per year and financial assistance on Educational Visits.

Medical/Dental Appointments

Please can you try and ensure that all appointments are booked out of school time or in school holidays, where possible. However, if an appointment is within the school day, we do require you to bring us a copy of the appointment.

If you would like your belongings back you must label them!

Reading

The summer holidays are an ideal time for your child to get stuck into a book or for you to read with your child. Not all the children are proficient readers and it really is important that you keep sharing books and encouraging your child to read at home. Your time is a precious gift you can give your children, helping them to read is helping them to develop lifelong skills. It is of paramount importance. Please make time and enjoy it!

And finally ……….

On behalf of the staff, I would like to wish you a happy holiday.

We hope that you will all keep safe and well whatever you are doing over the summer break.

For those of you returning, we look forward to seeing you again in September.

To those of you for whom this is the last St Paul`s Newsletter as your child leaves and moves onto their new school, we wish you all the best and hope that you and your child will have good memories of their time at St Paul`s.
