Welcome Back

I hope you have all had a restful Easter and are refreshed and ready for the run up to Spring Break.

Class Photographs

Tempest Photography will be in school for the whole day on Monday 18th April to take class photographs. Please can you make sure children are looking smart (in their uniform) and smiling.

The PTA meeting is on Tuesday 12th April at 19:00pm in the staff room. New members and volunteers are always greatly appreciated. We would love to see more parents of younger children to come along and support us.

Grammar for Parents

The new National Curriculum has reintroduced a great deal of grammar into teaching. Many people have not been taught grammar in the way it is being taught to their children. We are holding a `Grammar for Parents` information session suitable for parents of all age groups and KS2 children to attend on Tuesday 12th April in the school hall 18:00 -19:00. Please come along where we will explain the new concept of teaching.

Charity Collections

Each year the school supports several charities including local, national and international. The school council are involved with the selection of these charities as they are often closely linked to topics in the curriculum or individual children.

In the last 12 months we have raised a fantastic £1508.44.  Here`s a breakdown of how the money was distributed.

  • Red Nose Day - Dress down day - £ 217.81
  • CAP – Christians Against Poverty -  Harvest Church Collections - £78.66

Donations of jars/tins food were also collected for our local food bank.

  • Macmillan  - Coffee Morning - £429.67 & Christmas Concert Collections - £265.29
  • Wakefield Hospice – Staff Christmas Card Donation - £86.06
  • Sports Relief – All children supported Sports Relief by running a mile and wearing sports wear – £430.95 Spilt

(Sports Relief £403.39 / 10%   MARA Tanzania School £27.56)

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for helping the children to raise funds for these charities.
