SATs
Yippee!!! SATs are officially over! (SATs are still ongoing for KS1)
I would like to say that Year 6 children have really excelled this week, working through all the SATs. Whatever the outcome, we can be proud of the resilience, perseverance and general attitude they have shown throughout the whole week. This has also extended to a fantastic attitude at lunchtimes too. Well done Year 6. Time to relax this weekend!
* Breakfast Club - Mr Willmott and Year 6 children would like to thank Mrs Kentgens who gave up her own time to come in and prepare breakfast for the children.
Dinners
ISS the company that provide our school meals have informed us that the cut off time for ordering a school dinner is 10:30am. If your child is going to be late for any reason and requires a school dinner then this must be ordered before 10:30 to guarantee they receive their preferred meal. Please note that if your child is sent home unwell after 10:30 and has ordered a meal, this will still need to be paid for as all our meals are cooked fresh on the day to order. As well as the school having its own website https://alverthorpe.eschools.co.uk, we are also now on Twitter. @StPaulsWF2 is the official School Twitter account.
If you use Twitter, please “follow” us to get the latest news, photos and information about the school in your Twitter feed. This new additional communication method will enable us to get information out quickly and help us promote the school and the outstanding achievements of our children and staff.

Swimming
There is no swimming for Year 5 children due to the timetable they will be having for their “Greek Day” on Monday. We have also been made aware from Silcoates School that due to their exam timetable commitments we will not have access to the pool. Therefore there will be no swimming on the 23.5.16 and 26.5.46.
Pentecost Service
To celebrate Pentecost we are having a special Service at the church on Thursday 19th May at 9:30am. Parent/carers and family members are welcome to come and join us.
Carnival
Plans for our Carnival are coming along, however we couldn’t do it without your help. You can help make the day a success by donating toys, books, home baking, tombola prizes or your time. Donations will start to be collected after Spring Bank and home baking the day before the Carnival.
`If you can donate your time, please give your details to the school office and someone from the PTA
will be in contact. Even if you can’t man a stall on the day, help is always appreciated in the week
running up to the carnival, on the morning of the carnival to set up and at the end the day to clear up.`
At present we are on the lookout (indeed desperate!) to secure raffle prizes and vouchers from local businesses. If you or anyone you know has their own business and would be willing to donate something (no matter how small) please, please get in touch. Thank you.
