The Importance of Outdoor Play

Children today spend less than half the time playing outdoors that their parents did. They are growing up in an increasingly indoor, sedentary and virtual world. This has a significant impact on their physical health, emotional wellbeing, and social skills.

The best place for children is outdoors, which is why we as a school will encourage outdoor play at every opportunity. Playing outdoors can improve muscular strength, co-ordination, balance, dexterity and aerobic fitness. Children can burn as many calories in an active outdoor playtime as in a PE lesson.

*If for any reason you would like your child excused from outdoor play, please contact Mrs McClean who will discuss the alternative options available.

Parent / Teacher / Consultations

We are looking forward to seeing you all on the Tuesday / Wednesday of next week for the Parent / Teacher / Consultations. It is lovely to see you with your children when browsing through their work.

Year 6 SATs Meeting

Mr Willmott would like to thank all the parents of the Year 6 children who attended the SATs meeting. It was a reasonable turn-out. Details regarding Booster classes will follow in a letter. Mr Willmott can talk more about which Booster class your child would benefit from in the upcoming parent consultation day.

New Baby

Congratulations to Mrs Wood and her husband on the birth of their new baby girl Isabella Grace on Monday 8th February. Both mother and baby are doing well.
