Parent / Teacher / Consultations

You should have now received your letter and appointment slip for the Parent / Teacher / Consultations. Please ensure you return your completed slip to school no later than Friday 2nd October, enabling teachers sufficient time to allocate time slots.

Harvest Festival

Parents and carers are welcome to join us for our Harvest Festival that will be held on Wednesday 7th October at 2.00 pm in the church. This year, we are gathering produce for St Catherine’s Church (food bank).Items requested are tins and dried food stuff, and we ask that these have long ‘use by’ dates.  Please do not send fresh produce as it is often ‘past its best’ by the time it is distributed.  In addition any monetary donations will also be sent to CAP (Christians Against Poverty).

Alverthorpe St Paul`s PTA

Following a very successful year of fundraising in 2014/15 we are hoping that our fundraising efforts will be just as successful this year.  Due to the funds raised by the PTA via the Carnival and school discos, we were able to buy a full class set of Notepads and purchase the vital resources needed for our Early Years Outdoor Leaning area. The money also supports school visits by subsidising coach costs, buys ingredients for cooking classes, and has recently bought every child in school the special edition coin generated by Tower Mint to commemorate ‘Longest Reigning British Monarch’.

Massive thanks to the PTA committee past and present for arranging the events and also to all of the other helpers who support the activities and give up their time to ensure that things run smoothly. A warm welcome to our new members, and a reminder we are always looking for additions to join the team to help and support and improve our fundraising events.

Wakefield Grammar School Foundation

Wakefield Grammar School Foundation will be holding an Information Morning for parents and prospective pupils on Saturday 3rd October from 9:30am to 1:00pm.

Many parents receive financial assistance towards the cost of school fees and if you believe that you may benefit from such a bursary, please visit www.wgsf.org.uk. The entrance examination will take place on Tuesday 12th January 2016.
