Dear Parents,
Our after-school music club will continue again in the Autumn Term and will be open to children in Years 3 to 6 however, there will be a limit of 20 places, given on a first-come-first-served basis, and will be from 3.15 till 4.00pm on Tuesdays.
The club will be run by Miss Ghent who is our school Violin teacher and she comes into school every week to teach some of our Junior children the Violin. Miss Ghent is employed by Wakefield Music Services as a Peripatetic Music Teacher in primary and secondary schools in Wakefield, and has taught in St Paul’s for the last 10 years.
There will be a cost of £15 per term and this will include a minimum of 30 guaranteed lessons during the academic year. However, if your child is Pupil Premium, this club is offered at a reduced fee. Please speak to the school office if this is the case.
The children will be singing, learning a range of musical games which include activities that teach rhythm and pitch, and will be able to play tuned and non-tuned percussion instruments. Those children who already learn other instruments such as recorder, violins, flute, clarinets and brass instruments will also be able to use their instruments later in the term, if they belong to the club.
Dates for the Autumn Term are; September 16th, 23rd, 30th; October 7th, (NOT 14th as it is Parent/Teacher Consultations) 21st; November 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th; December 2nd (last one).
