Our after-school music club will continue again in the Spring Term and will be open to children in Years 3 to 6.  This will take place on Tuesdays from 3.15 till 4.00 pm.  There will be a limit of 20 places, given on a first-come-first-served basis.


The club will be run by Miss Ghent who is our school Violin teacher, she comes into school every week to teach some of our Junior children the Violin. Miss Ghent is employed by Wakefield Music Services as a Peripatetic Music Teacher in primary and secondary schools in Wakefield, and has taught in St Paul’s for the last 10 years.


This term there will be 7 sessions at a cost of £10.50.  (Please note due to Young Voices on Tuesday 19th January children in Year 6 will only have 6 sessions.  The cost for this is £9).  If your child is Pupil Premium, this club is offered at a reduced fee.  Please speak to the school office if this is the case.


The children will be singing, learning a range of musical games which include activities that teach rhythm and pitch, and will be able to play tuned and non-tuned percussion instruments. Those children who already learn other instruments such as recorder, violins, flute, clarinets and brass instruments will also be able to use their instruments later in the term, if they belong to the club.


Dates for the Spring Term are; January 12th, 19th and 26th, February 16th and March 1st, 8th and 15th(Please note there will NOT be a club on Tuesday 2nd February – PTA Movie night and Tuesday 23rd February due to Parent Consultations).
