Malham Cove River Aire Y4

30th September 2014
In connection with our curriculum work, I am hoping to take the children to Malham Cove on Friday 10th October. We have been studying the River Aire and this field study will allow them to see first-hand what we have been learning in class. We will be following the route of the River Aire from its source at Malham to its confluence with the River Calder at Castleford where we will be stopping to view the river. A visit of this kind greatly enhances the children’s enjoyment of their work and increases their overall knowledge.

Detailed below is a breakdown of the cost per child:

Cost of coach  £7.60
Insurance        £0.40

Total cost       £8.00

The full voluntary contribution will be necessary for the visit to go ahead. I am writing, therefore, to ask whether you would be prepared to pay this amount of money as a voluntary contribution. Please return the reply slip and money no later than Friday 3rd October.

The children will need to bring a packed lunch and will need sturdy shoes to walk in and a waterproof coat (waterproof over trousers are also recommended if the forecast is rain). The coach will leave school at approximately 9:00am and should be back at school about 4:30pm.
