Attendance

Very well done to 5L for 100% attendance in a week when many classes failed to reach our minimum standard of 96%. Every day in school is important! Please make sure that your child has enough sleep to be able to concentrate and behave at school.

Congratulations

Miss Murphy is getting married during half term, I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing her `Good Luck` for her big day She will return after the holidays as Mrs McGarrell.

Parent / Teacher / Consultations

We are looking forward to seeing you all on the Tuesday / Wednesday of the first week back for the Parent / Teacher / Consultations. It is lovely to see you with the children when browsing through their work.

Robin Hood`s Bay

With the Year 4 residential just around the corner, can you please ensure all consent and medical forms are returned to school straight after half term. Your child`s £10 spending money (in change) should be handed in to the class teacher in a sealed envelope with their name on it.

Dinner Money Debt

Despite introducing the online payment system for dinner money, office staff are still spending valuable time chasing dinner money on a weekly basis.

Parents/Carers must pay in advance for the school lunch using any of the methods of payment

outlined below:

  • Online using feedinghungryminds.co.uk     THIS IS OUR PREFERRED METHOD
  • Send cash or cheque in a marked envelope

Parents should be able to relate to the situation that they cannot take their child to a restaurant e.g. McDonalds and expect them to be given food without paying. The same also applies at school. The Free School Meals system is there for parents who cannot afford school meals, there should be no excuses.

If parents believe that their children may qualify for entitlement to Free School Meals please contact Free School Meals on 01924 305061 or 306784. This allowance is a statutory right and it is important that you use it if you qualify. Help is available with your application either at school or by contacting any of the above numbers.

Clothes Recycling

The Super Squad are providing St Paul’s School PTA with the chance to raise money for the school. We are asking you to donate any unwanted, used clothing. Simply fill your own bin bags / carrier bags, and bring them to the school entrance the week commencing Monday 23rd February. This is an ideal way to recycle any unwanted clothing cramming those wardrobes, and raise funds at the same time.

Super Squad Clothing Recyclers will be collecting them:

THURSDAY 26TH FEBRUARY  9.00am  -  We will be unable to accept bags brought in after 9am

Alverthorpe Carnival 2015, Saturday 4th July, 11am to 3pm

This is the PTA`s biggest fund raising event of the year, and the preparations are underway. Bookings now being taken for stalls, and advertising in the programme. Do you know a business or someone who would like to donate a prize for the raffle? Also, are you part of a group, and would like to perform on the arena? We would love to hear from you. For further details please email marion.airstone@tiscali.co.uk or Tel. 07931 890756
