Carnival News

The Carnival is being held on Saturday 2nd July between 11.00am and 3.00pm.

Raffle Prize Donations

Many thanks to Mr Peter Atha, PA Electrical who has  kindly donated a brand new  `Kindle Fire`  for the ‘Grand Raffle’ this year! If you have any items you are able to provide, e.g. vouchers, chocolates, wine, spirits, etc, please see one of the PTA committee or the school office who will add your gift to the list. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Jar Bar

This stall has always been a huge success thanks to all your beautifully decorated jars.  Please fill the jars with “goodies” suitable for children, such as hair decorations, sweets, pencils etc.

Jars should be brought in on Friday 24th June and in return your child can wear their own clothes to school on that day.

Cake Stall

Home made cakes are always extremely well received, can you spare some time to bake or even buy a cake for the Carnival? Please bring your contribution to school on Friday 1st July.

We may sell them on the cake stall or they may be sold with the afternoon tea. We can always sell as many as you can bake!

Books

The book stall is always popular with books for babies and toddlers right through to adult novels.  (Please remember that it is a school event and books should be of a suitable content!) – Donations after half-term

Tombola

Any prizes for this stall are much appreciated – unwanted gifts, toiletries, chocolates, tins, etc.

– Donations after half-term

Toy Stall

Fed up looking at those toys the kids no longer play with? If they are in working order/good condition with all necessary pieces, we’d love to take them off your hands.

Teddies will be used for a “hook a duck” stall.

– Donations after half-term

Bottles

Always a favourite on the day. Bring a bottle (of any sort), all bottles are gratefully received.

PTA Meeting – Tuesday 7th June at 6.30pm

In the extremely busy build up to the Carnival the PTA are having another meeting on Tuesday 7th June.  PLEASE COME ALONG!  It is really important that people get involved and support our PTA, because without them, there would be no Carnival.

Sports Day – Wednesday 22nd June

Parent/carers are invited to come and support the children when they will be participating in our sports day. As usual the event will be dependent on the weather! We are planning to hold Early Years and KS1 (Early Years, Rec, Year 1 and Year 2) at 10:00am and KS2 (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) at 1:30pm.

Can parent/carers please ensure that smaller siblings who are spectating are supervised. I must remind you that dogs must not be bought onto school premises and smoking is not permitted at any time.

We will be taking lots of pictures for our website (alverthorpe.eschools.co.uk) and twitter account (@StPaulsWF2). If you do not want your child to appear please inform the school office.

Spring Bank Holiday

Have a lovely Spring Bank Holiday. I hope we have some good weather and you have chance to spend some time outdoors with your family. We return to school to school on Monday 6th June.
