Attendance

Well done to R:1H and 6W for achieving over 99% attendance. We have had the occasional bouts of illness affecting attendance and some are struggling a bit to get back into the school routines of early bedtimes and getting up in time for breakfast after Easter.

Please remember that this time of year is really important for children (and teachers) with assessments, SATs and information gathering for reports. Do try to make sure that your child attends every day! They lose out on so much when they miss odd days.

School Behaviour Policy

The school behaviour policy has been refined to include informing parents when children have had 3 incidents of poor behaviour. These are defined as minor misdemeanours that are repeated after warnings have been given. (We have a formal warning system in place in classrooms so children are aware of their behaviour and its consequences). When an incident occurs, it is recorded in the Teachers Blue Book. After 3 incidents, parents will receive a copy of the following letter:

Dear Parent/Carer

In accordance with our Behaviour Policy, I am writing to inform you that ………………………….

has had three incidents of inappropriate behaviour recorded this half term.

Incidents are only recorded after reminders about behaviour have been given and the child has been through our behaviour warning system.

Please make an appointment with Mrs McClean, Mrs Somerville or your child’s class teacher if you wish to discuss this further.
